TMC eyes more Indonesian patients

... Under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the parties, the arrangement is structured to bring in at least 100 patients from Indonesia over a two-year period.

In a statement issued on March 17, TMC said based on past track record, foreign patients were more likely to demand high-margin fertility treatment services.

“As such, revenue contribution from the expected 100 patients from Indonesia as agreed in the MoU is likely to be significant.” Electratour is granted the rights to promote TMC’s range of fertility treatment services at its own cost and expenses in central Java.

TMC chairman Datuk Dr Khalid Abdul Kadir said: “Indonesia was the first foreign market the group ventured into (in November 2003) and has emerged as one of the group’s success stories in expanding our services beyond the Malaysian market.

"Patients from Indonesia contributed almost a third of the group’s foreign revenue in 2005, becoming the largest contributor by a foreign country.

Indonesia is expected to be the top foreign revenue contributor in 2006.” Khalid said the group was setting its sights on promoting its fertility treatment services to other countries in the region.

He said it had undertaken trade promotion missions to the Philippines and China this year.
