The Catholic church has always maintained that egg donation is morally unacceptable.

Philosophy professor Andrew Trew furthers this point.

He said the practice of egg donation illustrates a divorce between reproduction and relationships, namely marriage.

While nations are cracking down on this practice of advertising, the U.S.

is rapidly becoming the last hope for other countries to obtain egg donors.

State lawmakers in Arizona and California are stepping in, citing ethical and health concerns.

The Arizona House has passed bills banning donor payments and requiring doctors to tell women about the health risks that may cause death in rare cases.

In California, Democratic State Sen.

Deborah Ortiz is trying to push a bill that would limit payments to donors.

They would also require doctors to inform women of possible risks, according to USA Today.
