In the organised food sector, many food manufacturing companies are aware of the threat, so most of them subject their raw materials to mycotoxin analyses.

Ideally, this practice should be mandatory.

But the informal food producers do not consider it to be an essential process.

How can the informal sector be carried along?

It could be a three way approach.

I want to commend government on what is being done in respect of HIV/AIDS and tobacco.
