Study finds dramatic increase in women's fertility after 26

...The research, commissioned by the lobby group Fertility New Zealand and conducted by a private research firm, studied the fertility of 1,000 New Zealand women at the end of last year.

The group's executive director, Sian Harcourt, says its findings highlight the dilemma facing many women.

Ms Harcourt says they may not want babies at a younger age and, if they do, they may want to juggle child rearing with their careers or education.

Fertility New Zealand is seeking a meeting with Health Minister Pete Hodgson to discuss the findings.
