...Conference Deputy Chairman Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant Dr Jasem Al-Hajji said the most important surgery involved a female patient suffering from birth defects and absence of a uterus and ovaries.

Al-Hajji said there were 11 other surgeries including an endoscope hysterectomy and lymph-tumour removal surgery, the average length of surgery being an hour-and-a-half with Kuwaiti surgeons and doctors with the Canadian board in obstetrics assisting.

The surgeries were filmed and broadcast live to Adan hospital lecture hall with 180 physicians in the public and private sector attending, the official pointed out.
